  • hey mike24p...which camera is better in both picture quality and video....is the image stabilization a problem for the gf1 when recording video..please reply..thanks..

  • love the image stabilitation, hard to tell they are both excellent, if video is a priority, go with the gh1 - has the best video quality

  • Maybe I'm missing something, but how are you using the Siggy 50mm f/1.4? As it has no aperture ring, do you only have the option of shooting stopped down and that's it? Or is there some other way of changing the aperture value within the Panny's menus?

  • you are right, canon lenses, you will only be able to use it wide open, manual nikon lenses, or zeiss lenses in nikon mount, you can choose the aperture

  • what do you mean by the lumix gf1 having a 12.11 mpx sensor ????isent thst basecly a 13.1 mpx

  • Really great review. I look forward to more reviews from you!

  • @Acarsfault fujifilm x100 :D

  • @bandulu4real oui j'allais aussi demander ???

  • Yes you are right the GF1 has a much louder shutter but also the Olympus is very noisy, which it disappoint me very much.

Now I am more confused on my next purchase.

Which is the most silent mirrorless on the market for street photography ?

  • I keep seeing people in the comments calling these " SLR" cameras.... Well stop it already because they aren't.

  • If you are about to use some serious glass on 4/3'', Olympus would be better because it has built in stabilization and higher res EVF … cause you'll end up manually focusing anyway.

However for street photography I'd say the best is Ricoh GXR with 28mm A12 or 50mm A12… completely silent shutter, same size and better image quality then any of the 4/3'' cameras for a similar price.

  • forgot to mention that the panasonic has a handy built in pop up flash. For serious photographers you would obviously want some kind of external flash, but then again, in that case you would probably not be using a compact slr such as these.
