  • I'm seriously ashamed of television right now. This proves once and for all how liberally biased mainstream American media is. They're trying to pass this off as objective reporting about how "others" might react to Mitt Romney speaking French, when in reality it's a thinly veiled excuse to take jabs at him and throw a very unflattering light his way. He knows French because he SERVED as a VOLUNTEER in France for 2 years. I'd like to see any of these reporters have the character to do that.

  • That's ridiculous. In sweden, you HAVE to study french, german or spanish (or just stick with english, if you're really bad/lazy with foreign languages) in grades 6 and above.

Also, the whole "He's using his brain, He's a communist, royalist, terrorist, nazi elitist" that some uneducated trash among the population of the US seem to buy into has to be one of the most laughable claims I have ever heard.

  • Wow, I didnt realize there were so many recalcitrant babies in my country...sorry rest of the world!

  • @Justin6477 No he doesn`t. When he visited Canada, he expressed sadness that he couldn`t understand what a reporter and Prime Minister Harper were discussing.

  • I think it is a good thing to speak another language, French or otherwise. I give Romney credit for it. But as goofy as the anti-French attitude is, it was heavily played against John Kerry. So even though it is stupid, it was brought on by the Republicans first, it's fair game.

  • I'm an American, and I love France. I spent my sophomore year there living in dorms and host families near Paris. US resentment towards France has no justification. They live better and they have the most beautiful language. Better health care, maternity leave, vacation time, social services, standards of living, food, women, green energy, it goes on and on... Plus America wouldn't have existed without their help in the Revolution. God America, I love you but seriously, man up.

  • p.s. Speaking another language should be praised...but by the sounds of things, Romney's French is shit anyway...

  • Sorry Americans, I know you're not all bad, but this video is why the rest of the world hates you.

  • Its kinda ridiculous the level of anti-French sentiment in the USA.

  • he is going to be the leader of your country and 129 million speak french come on if he is going to be a great leader he should be able to speak to other countries

  • @roarkkkk You realize the "liberal Media" only broadcast this fact because they knew the conservative base would disavow Romney for it. So this really is a tale of republican stupidity, intelligently exploited by the "lamestream Media"

  • Our professor (American) told us about this attack against Mitt Romney at our lecture. Oh boy you should have seen how 500+ Finns laughed at Americans.
