what is your favorite filipino food (aka "ask the locals") 6?

chew on this: the hidden garden in vigan city is a cool, touristy thing to check out. its just a simple nursery (great plants and, ahem, interesting she-boys who are tending to some of the plants). they had hands down the gosh darn best empanadas i ever did eat. they were not your normal empanada...no sir. these bad boys were light, flaky and the filling was goey from the egg yolks and kinda crispy from the papaya and then meaty and sweet from the loganisa. sooooo yummy. i recommend taking a horse drawn carriage to the hidden garden from the center of vigan city. it was a rustic ride, and great a way to see locals and simple life.
