funny thing is that even though kevin kline's singing voice isn't the most perfectly suited for it or the most professional sounding, i feel like out of all the versions i've heard he sings it the best.. his phrasing and emotional interpretation are so raw and i feel like he captures the heart and the unbearable longing behind the song better than any of the 'professional' singers who have tried to tackle this song... that's in my not so humble opinion.

Watched this film a while back but this scene stood out for me.

I would have liked Kline's version to be on the soundtrack though. It's so sweet.. :)

Kevin Kline's voice isn't so great, but every time I hear him singing a song, (Like on that Movie set in France with Meg Ryan -- what's it called?) I think he does well enough for me to believe he's the character.

What a performance. what music, Kevin Kline gave the performance of a lifetime. cole porter did not have a good voice. Neither does Kline but his singing is full of what an audience wants to hear. Emotion. He feels what he is singing. Cole Porter am sure, wherever he is ....can be proud of this story of his life, that was so fulfilling.After seeing the movie De-Lovely I bought it to have it handy whenever I want to see a good movie filled with emotion and love.
