Filmed on April 1st, 2007 at the Prince William County Board of County Supervisors meeting. The main focus of the agenda for the afternoon session was Chief Deane's progress report on the implementation of the Immigration Resolution. But the most anticipated aspect of the meeting was the face-to-face between Police Chief Charlie Deane and Chairman Corey Stewart, after Stewart and his allies in the blogosphere had attacked Deane and even called for his resignation:

  • That's not true at all. They didn't give a poop about heart. People were turned away at Ellis Island for having criminal records, for being too old, being disabled, being mentally ill, being diseased, being blind, etc. Then if you were turned away you had to make a three week boat ride back to Europe.

  • Our governemnt didnt even have the term illegal immigrant until the eairly 1900's.

    Immigration was open to anyone with the will and heart to come here and work hard.

    This is clearly speaking on the way our governemnt is governed, it doesnt say anywhere that ONLY US citizens are created equal.

  • The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land. It grants rights of residency and representation to citizens of these states and is upheld by their will.We exercise sovereignty over these lands. If you are subject and loyal to a foreign power then you may enter our domain only as dictated by our will(expressed through the law).

  • You're missing half of the statement: "— That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,". This refers to a citizen/representative model, the USA, implicitly. So yes, it is talking about citizens of the USA.

  • "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

    Notice it doesnt say just citizens of the USA?

  • I don't think they should be allowed to break the law because of their race. Our founding fathers broke the law when they decided to create this country, Blacks broke the law when they went to white schools rode in the front of buses, and drank from white fountains. I am for human rights; our country was founded with immigration in mind. Our statue of liberty, our bill of rights and our constitution affords all men the same rights no matter what their status is.

  • Well, we can sit and argue about that all day. It's a non sequitur. The point is that if you think you can break the law because you are a member of that race, or any other race, you are an enemy of equality and a racist.

    Europeans came here and took it by force.
