Musique, totally agree. This is very serious and very sad. I don't even find it amusing when they finally get their hands on the Basij, as much as I hate them. But these people make me so proud of them. Their courage is indescribable.

Really hard to say which was worse, the Shah or this regime. They were both hardcore oppressive. But this one hides behind religion and pretends to have a monopoly on God. That's deeply offensive to everybody in Iran.

You're fully right, except for the 1. sentence, Always funny to see. You probably don't know Persian.
In the heading it says: "The body of one of those, who lost their lives, carried by the people." So you see, it isn't funny at all - there's death involved.
But you may have meant the extent of the demonstrations & in this respect you're right. Interesting how the regime - by its own mistakes - has brought upon itself the very fate the ousted shah faced - estrangement from the people.

Always funny to see. People hated the Sjah for his pro-America attitude. What they got themselfs into was WAY worse than anything you could imagine. Corruption, oppression by a small elite, without freedom of speech. That said, there is a bright side: The people of Iran finally stood up, which means the days of oppression may be over one day!
