Please Be Mine and Too Many Heartbreaks were Merrell Fankhauser's first recorded vocals in early 1963 after leaving the instrumental Surf band The Impacts. The song charted at #4 on many California radio stations.

Great tune; do you know anything about the group or when this was released?

@MrCuckooclock Yes, Merrell Fankhauser responded to one of my post, can't remember which one? Browes around, a good friend of his also responded, you may want to contact her. It's been 2 years so I don't remember their names. I think it was "Too Many Heartbreaks"

Music history is filled to overflowing with
highly talented vocalists/instrumentalists
who, after making their record, either scored
low on the charts or, even worse, failed to
chart altogether. They weren't necessarily all
bad recordings; they simply did not get all
the attention they needed. This is a pretty
good example of such an act.

Right on the nose my friend!! I always wondered about payola, Alan Freed got caught, was he the only one doing it? Makes one wonder why them DJs were not playing these sounds. If I heard this when it was 1st released, I would have ran all the way to the record store, really sad when you think about it.
