Faldo Woods hype at British Open

I'm a great fan of both Faldo & Woods but on this occasion Woods acts like a 6 yr old, whereas Faldo comes across 100% good grace and good humour. Faldo is a very PROFESSIONAL commentator as well as one of best players in history. Faldo made an OBJECTIVE comment about a rare bad swing from Tiger - so what? How can a mature adult man get irked about that??? Tiger hasn't done himself any good on this occasion.

the thing is...NICK FALDO is one of the only golf pundits who CAN critique tiger's swing..given he's won 6 majors..the guy knows what he's talking about.

as great as tiger woods is, no one is above criticism..faldo was paid by NBC to give his opinion and analysis..that's what he did.

This was all a gigantic fuss about nothing, but what does make me laugh is that the media singled out Faldo for his comments at the 2005 Buick Invitational. In case they didn't notice, Faldo critqued Tiger's swing at several subsequent tournaments - as is his right and opinion. In fact, he was at it again at the final Western Open 10 days before Hoylake! Media, when you're attempting to generate a hot-air story, at least stay a bit more current events with it. :-/

i think tiger and michael jordan share a common problem: in the process of dominating their sport, they unnecessarily created this attitude in themselves that just makes absolutely everybody out to be an enemy/obstacle. then they just play it down as being 'competitive' and 'that's what it takes to win'. tiger has this chip on his shoulder he needs to realize isn't even there. it's one thing to be competitive, but it's another thing to be vindictive, grudge-bearing and hateful.

tiger is an arsehole. no sense of humor he does take himself to serious. he is a great golfer but just a regular guy he doesnt invent fucking medicine against cancer. the truth is he is golf. but it is just golf and not fucking rocketscience. i think faldo reacted wrong. he should have said who do you think you are to try to make me shut up. golf owns tiger everything. but that doesnt mean he can act like fucking hitler. I love the golfer tiger. but such a prick is not a good role model.

suck it nick faldo....tiger won that open championship. You won 6 majors, one was against norman who choked a 6 shot lead at augusta, and one that scott hoch missed a 2 foot putt. You can't make cuts anymore so you shoot your mouth about other people's swings.

At least Faldo can joke around once and a while. Tiger is so arrogant that if he had any ounce of personality he would make half jokes aimed at his asshole caddie by saying that his caddie was an asshole in front of golf fans. Rather than spewing stupid "I played terrrible today" lines, while he was at Augusta, during the Masters, when he should be appreciative that he was able to play in the tournament, like everyone else seems to be when they finish playing Augusta National.

I love Nick Faldo. I idolized him. I still do. He is a great commentator and is never afraid to poke fun at himself. I even went as far as picking up a set of Mizuno MP 29's and a ping b60 putter. That is how much I like him. I always wondered why people didn't like Faldo but they liked Norman. Norman and Woods are jerks. Now, I would think that playing golf with Tiger would be like being alone. But, I did meet Faldo at Torrey Pines in '96 and he signed a ball for me. That rules.
