Characters in Flight balloon ride at Downtown Disney Orlando

The Characters in Flight helium balloon ride at Downtown Disney officially opened on April 21, 2009. The balloon, operated by Aerophile, takes up to thirty guests 400 feet in the air for around five minutes, provided 360-degree views of all of Walt Disney World and the Orlando area.

In this video you can watch the balloon liftoff and land as well as take a virtual ride on the new attraction, showing you some of the incredible views it offers.

In addition, this video includes interviews with vice president of Downtown Disney Kevin Lansberry and general manager of Aerophile Erik Garcia, and a glimpse at the ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring vice president of operating partners Keith Bradford and 2009 Walt Disney World ambassador Vanessa Rosas.

@Junebugnoe you dont go disney for the clubs. if you want to do that go to places like turkey. disney is all about unique experiences and family.

@WhatYouHadSaid It's not worth the 16 dollars. I went down in December last year for 9 days8 nights and out of the 8 full days I had down there the balloon was down 7 of those 8 days because of high wind. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

They have same balloon at San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park, California. Great place to go. I was in San Diego for the first time with my friends and we didn't know that well. The Pilots and park employee were so friendly to us and looks professional. and yea i think pilot was looking very young. Great experience. View was Just awesome and around 15-20 minutes ride. Would definetely go their again :

16 dollars for about 5 minuets??? Seems kind of high priced for that short time your up there. But I think this was a bad move on disney's part to put this at DTD. Think this would have been better suited for a park like Epcot. Sorry just my opinion.
