DashCAM video from a traffic stop in June 2009, with Robert Baillio, where the Shreveport PD officer searched his truck for guns, without obtaining consent.

  • Illegal search. The officer can look through the vehicle with plain sight or with his flashlight all he wants, but cannot go inside without the owner's consent unless he either sees something incriminating inside the vehicle in plain sight or if someone is lawfully arrested.

  • @trooper629 - From watching the DashCam video, it would appear that the "probable cause" was the suspect's pro-gun bumper stickers. What floored me was that the officer reached in the car without first securing or searching the suspect. Had the man had murder on his mind, the officer would have been an easy target, when bending over through the truck cab to secure the weapon. The suspect could have pulled a concealed piece and shot the officer easily. This can't be standard police procedure.
