I actually purchased the 1946 Wurlitzer Series 31 Orgatron and it's model 310 Wurlitzer tone cabinet with rotary baffle system in the upper compartment of the 5 foot tall cabinet. I was lucky in that I offered $300 and since no other offers were made I was given a call over a month later saying to come and get it for $100. It does play and the amplified tone cabinet works as well too, but needs new electrolytic capacitors after 65 years! But it works! It was found in a vacant house since 1971.

Looking at a model 31 w/spkr for 300
I post this question anywhere there is a Wurlitzer Orgatron/electrostatic pre-55' organ.
What is Wurlitzer organ John Winters plays on the 'Mount Vernon Music' record label entitled 'Organ Moods' Ser# MVM161
BTW- it's not the organ on the cover as far as I can hear. This album is one that you will cherish for a long long time if you are so inclined to find and play it.
When you do I'm sure you'll be asking the same question.
I'll upload it to here soon.

A NOBLE instrument! What a trip down memory lane, hearing the individual stops and the various combinations also. I can think of several selections I'd love to hear played on this organ...including "Pilgrim's Chorus" from Tannheuser (Wagner) and "Traumerei" (Schumann). These are pieces I know now, but didn't know when I had access to that same model Wurlitzer in 2 or 3 different churches.
Sigh. :) Thank you.
Wow! How does it work? Sounds very realistic.

@Alexanification,
I found out a lot about this technology by watching Organgrinder010's videos. He has a 1954 vintage electrostatic reed organ. His organ is about 10 year younger than mine and the technology is newer, but the basic principals are the same. Search for these two videos on Organgrinder010's YouTube site:

Thank you Jon

I've seen these videos before yours. And the sound is different. Especially the attack and release. It sounds like the reeds of your organ doesn't vibrate all the time. I think the air is controlled by the keys. That's, why it sounds more like a pipe organ. The model from Organgrinder is built to have a short attack to compete also with the hammond organs.

Alexanification,
You are correct about the reeds not vibrating all the time with the Series 20 organ. However, I think that the stop registration that I am using, and the type of speakers matter as well. Organgrinder plays a more Hammond style music, while I prefer classical.
If you are interested in listening to the Series 20 organ dry (without reverb), then listen to my Fischer's Fuga Prima Redo.
Thank you
Jon

I love that organ, there is one for sale not far from me, but I have no way to move it :-( and no $ to purchase it. You are very lucky to have yours !

I got mine for $100 + another $100 to ship and move it + another $100 for the mixer. A bargain for a great sounding practice organ that just needed some TLC!! Good luck on finding a good organ.
