Why do people go all the way to China to adopt when there are 1000s of children here who need adopting? It's a slap in the face to them, like saying they're not good enough.

@JUKIO01 its actually harder. It can take years to be matched with a child in another country. Then it takes months before you get to take the baby home. If you adopt from the foster care system in the US its free. But you have to have a home study done. Its just easier to get babies if you adopt over seas

congrats to you on your new arrival. My husband and I are currently in the middle of "waiting". China appears to have closed down...with waits stretching to nearly 10 years at this point we are beginning to lose hope and think perhaps this is not meant to be. It's wonderful to see miracles happen for others. God Bless you all.

nice...really classy. FYI, people often choose China b/c the children tend to be healthier than in other countries. There is a low incidence of AIDS, fetal alcohol syndrome etc. And NO..."they" are not CHEAP. They are children who are unwanted and considered trash by many in their own country. adopting from China costs anywhere from $20,000-$50,000, So yeah...your bad. moron.
