Gold prospecting with Audrey and Nikki in Portland, MI. October 25, 2008.
This is a water powered trommel. A turgo water wheel mechanically powers the drum. Muddy recirculated water can be used. The drum is 3/16 stainless punch hole screen. Material classified out the front of the drum is moved to the side tray with its own water supply. Great fine gold recovery.
thats a nice set up too...like your stuff...im in the process of building a triple sluice highbanker i cant wait to test out

Nice machinery! I like your water wheel...looks like a finely constructed mechanism.

I live in Michigan too, and I have been interested in prospecting myself. Is a permit required, and if so how much does it cost? And where is someone allowed to prospect?
Sorry for asking, I couldn't find the info on any governmental sites :(
