In honor of the inauguration of Pope Francis, Catholic University professors Rev. Regis Armstrong, O.F.M. Cap., and Joshua Benson, Ph.D. — experts on aspects of the Franciscan ministry — will speak as part of a lecture titled "St. Francis of Assisi: History, Significance, and Resources."

Father Armstrong, John C. and Gertrude P. Hubbard Professor of Religious Studies, is an expert on Francis and Clare of Assisi, among other topics.

Benson, assistant professor of systematic theology, is an expert on the history of Franciscan thought. He holds a master's degree in Franciscan studies from the Franciscan Institute at St. Bonaventure University.
