Agreed. In my desires to make my own EV I'm trying to see how possible it is to make my own IVT. That's some slick shit. Only problem is the torque, I'll need one with a metal belt, not rubber
did you check out the lexus gs450h, video 2 the right, it shows when u get on it the rpms go up with demand once u reach a higher speed and begin to cruise the rpms drop like a rock back to minimil rpms
I agree with posty12. I want to see this operate in a real world condition. quarter to half throttle take-offs, WOT and pulling a 5,000lb load.
I'm not sure how this unit can accelerate a vehicle with out obtaining peak or near peak torque production of the engine, unless it does some serious mathematical equations and perform major torque multiplication inside the unit.
This may work well in high torque low rev vehicles, like diesels, or hybrid/electric.

would be so awesome for EV's

the dyno can add resistance load, its not just a free spinning wheel

yea because its going slow here

it stays at 1,000rpm, the computer keeps adjusting the trans to keep the rpm at the same level.
or do u mean does it have a kick down, i doubt it for this test

i wonder what happens when you step on it

under loud the rpm would simply increase providing more power.

please be aware that with the car on the Dyno as shown, the only load on the engine is the wheels, axel and transmision
i would like to see this repeated on a flat road where the entire load of the car is on the engine
