... What I mean is: put this piece next to say Beethoven's fifth, Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik or even Bach's own violin double concerto and probably 100% of lay people would go for the latter!

This is a bit more 'inaccessible', not so intuitively understood. You can't 'whistle it in the streets'.

But again, make no mistake: I adore this music. It's deep, it's rich and it's stirring! I'm a violinist myself and I think Bach was one of the biggest.

Did I just redeem myself? :)

  • I have to say excellent playing, although this song played at a church at what seems to be midnight would scare me away lol!

  • floopydisc, what do you mean - "lack of structure and excitement"? Surely you are not talking about this partita?! You gotta learn how to listen to Bach!

  • Bravo. Your intonation and rhythm are excellent. However, there is a tender melancholy to this movement and I would like to see you bring that quality out more in your phrasing.

  • You play very beautifully and a clean sound but I played this piece and you don't have a big distinction in your dynamics and I would recommend a little more emotion and musicality because it's too technical and sometimes musicality makes a piece sound better. Like some of the cadences that ended a phrase could be exaggerated by holding on to the note a little longer. That's it. Great job though =]

  • It's amazing because you play a lot of pieces!! Everytime I search on youtube one piece that I'm playing at the momentI find your beautiful interpretations! You are very gifted and born to play violin, I think =)

    Thanks!
