Historians are revisiting Anne Henry said she was fat his girth was 54" he said she was smelly he had a stinking abscessed leg wound He said she was stupid yet she learned english quickly Everything he felt about himself he projected on her but the Flanders Mare stuff should have been included
Understandably, but rather frighteningly, American's have little idea of a Tudor king. To the comment by houndes at the top of the page this is simply not true. The monasteries were destroyed, that is why there is an era called the Dissolution and it involved by all intents and purposes the insolvency of catholic faith, which had a huge impact upon English history. U nderstandably I speak from a historian's point of view and for that I'm sure I will have to apologise xxx
also - Henry anulled his marriage to Anne of Cleves, to be quite blunt, he could not perform his marital duties with her due to the fact that she repulsed him. and, my last point, Katherine Howard was acused of having affairs, whether she did or not is another matter intialy.
apart from this it was very good. and i highly commend the ideas behind it. the Tudor period was a great time in English history and very interesting to look at.
on top of what xxhoundessxx has already said. i would like to add that Anne Boleyn miscaried of a son after Elizabeth and it was this that led to Henrys wish to get rid of her. the charge laid against Anne Boleyn was treason, as adultery done by a queen was treasonous. Jane Seymour survived her childhood, though i understand what you mean the phrassing seemed to imply she died before she was an adult.
and Edward was not at the king's side when he died... he was in the country... and was brought to where Elizabeth was at so they could both be told at the same time.
other than that the film was great.. just thought i'd let you know some things you missed out on.
and uuuh hun... he annulled his marriage to Anne of Cleves because he was so offended by the site of her... he called her The Flander's Mare... and its also believed that he caught site of Cathering Howard and was a fare site prittier than Anne of Cleves was. what you gave as the reason was just so it wouldnt look so bad to everyone else

you forgot to include that Catherine had several miscarriages... and the biggest reason that the pope said no was because the emporer Charles of Spain was the Queen's nephew and had the pope captured.
anne was also charged with adultery with like 5 guys... and her own brother.
the monestaries werent destroyed... they were made into houses and palaces for himself and his favorites.
