ALNF's CAS Program Tennant Creek 2010 - Creating a culture of literacy

The Community Action Support Program (CAS) in Tennant Creek, NT, promotes literacy and learning by forging relationships between young and old, school and community.

ALNF recruits preservice teachers who enter the community for an intensive 4-week placement. These teachers participate in a variety of projects bringing together students, staff and the wider community.

In Tennant Creek, 145 children at the primary and high schools are given over 330 hours of literacy support.
