Kaiser NUHW, CNA and IUOE Local 39 workers went out on strike in California on January 31, 2012. They took strike action against Kaiser's demands for the end of a defined pensions and increased charges for healthcare for themselves and their families. National Union Of Healthcare Workers NUHW members also discussed how Kaiser is stalling mental health patients and patients from addictions from getting quick care despite their critical healthcare needs. Workers also discussed the role of the SEIU UHW leadership in moving to make major concessions and forcing the other unions on the property to take similar concessions.
