Senior Psychiatric Social Worker, Mr. Baruti, talks about the importance of Niroga Institute's Yoga program at the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center.
Among other topics, Mr. Baruti talks about 'Victories' achieved by participants during yoga in juvenile hall:
- being able to come into the (yoga) class and say, I feel like ****,' but at the end of the class, say 'I feel better.'
- to be able to focus for 25-50 minutes during the yoga class.
- if a participant is being disruptive, and the teachers asks them to leave, to get up and leave quietly without cursing out the teacher or slamming the door.
