He had withdrawn from the British established Baghdad Pact,started to nationalise oil and threatened Kuwait, Alan Dulles called Iraq the most dangerous place in the world.. After the coup the CIA man in Baghdad said in a letter to Kennedy that the coup was a victory for `our side`

Was trained by the CIA in Egypt during his time there in exile as a student. He took control of the Ba'ath party and staged a coup. Then we used him as a buffer against Iranian revolutionary expansionism. We allowed him to invade Kuwait, then turned and backstabbed him. Then Bush declared a new world order. Later we offed him.

In the beginning: "They are the two of the darkest figures of world history". Isn't Hussein a dictator like other terrible regimes in the middle east? So just because we we toppled his regime he has to be some nazi-like bad ass. And didn't the United States support Hussein as an ally for a while, as well as supported Hussein with money for the Iraq-Iran war?...
