  • dontlayeggs, yes Castro did empty his jails and mental hospitals and sent them over during the Mariel Boatlift but the majority of the refugees that came were not criminals or insane. My family and I came in April of 1980 and are eternally grateful to this country and its people for affording us the opportunities we would have never had in our homeland. Freedom is precious and you will never appreciate it until you don't have it!

  • Castro sent us his prisoners to the United States. He didn't want the regular citizens to leave. He instructed his soldiers to shoot anyone who tried to leave, without his permission.

  • 1:23 - WTF are are you pissed about thats got you pumping your fist is the air?

Either be grateful for what we did for you at that time or just get the fuck back in the water and deuce out... seriously -___-

  • For the record, 125,000 Cubans. and estimated 25,000 had "criminal records"... Cuban standard of what a "crime" is over there is not the same as here in the US, since in the dictatorship a "crime" can also be speaking out against the dictatorship (Free Speech) which they do NOT have over there, and even if you want to paint the entire picture with broad colors, take the 25,000 "criminals" out of the 125,000 and that still leaves you with 100,000 just regular people seeking Freedom and Liberty.

  • Castro let anyone leave the country in the port called "mariel" in 1980.. he called the people leaving the scum of cuban sociaty or escoria. Most people leaving were citizens, but then again he let prisoners and mental people leave as to get rid of them. That'ts why miami's crime rate has been really high over the past years.

  • biggest mistake ever!.....

  • @rabblerouzer1 Let me tell you something dude. yes Castro sent some criminals but not all of them were criminals. Most of them were working people. And now a Cuban is 3 times more educated than any American in this Country. Cuba is the only country in the world that is ranked 100% literacy. we do appreciate what this Country has done for us. and before Castro took in charge, Cuba was managed and Governed by the U.S basically just like PR, Guam, Philippines. just to remind u that.

  • tony montana is coming here

  • @BAYBER3214 You're partly wrong sir. My family came on that boat, before I was born, and none of them are criminals. My grandpa and uncle were imprisoned in Cuba were trying to flee the island before 1980. Yes he sent prisoners and mentally ill people, but most were working class citizens, aka the dirt poor. Basically someone crashed into the Peruvian embassy and they left the gate open. Big mistake cos people flooded in so Fidel decided to let anyone who wanted to leave they could. 125,000 left

  • Fidel was clever man. Let's send all the criminal scum to USA , we don't want them , we don't need them.

  • @cuban1959 As a Puerto Rican I have to say is that anyone who had a criminal record should not have been admitted entrence into the United States.

  • Miami is ours and Congress is full of us.

Kennedy should have done the right thing in Bay of Pigs but he didn't.......... so here we are in the US achieving the freedom that was denied to us in Cuba.

Criminals? How about Coca Cola CEO in the 80s. Was he a criminal too? He was Cuban. How about ATT CEO ? Another Cuban running a mayor US enterprise. Think twice when you try to make us look all like Tony Montana. We can be that or a US Senator.
