Hi Amy! I love this song, the emotion and the lyrics are amazing. I especially adore the chorus. I'm 16 and I'm interested in learning to write songs for myself. I was curious about how you go about writing lyrics? I've tried so many times before and I'm never satisfied with how they come out, its like I just can't say what I want to, the words wont come. Anywho, I was wondering if you had any suggestions for writing lyrics?

The secret is not to edit yourself.

I write a lot of poetry, it's like writing in a journal for me. So a few poems over a period of time are about the same topic, then when I write a song I pluck out the best lines of those poems.

Just trust your intuition, trust the flow, be open.

Also, when I'm writing, the first thing I write is crap. But usually by the 2nd or 3rd poem I've found my voice.

You are incredibly beautiful with such amazing talent. I envy how fantastic and inspiring your lyrics are! I've always wanted to write a song like this-- upbeat but still serious in meaning. Oh, I could go on and on~

This song really gets stuck in your head, I especially love "I'm not gonna be the fool this time," but if I were to pick a favorite line, which is hard to do, it'd probably be ".. I dance in circles with jealousy" Oh, it's amazing! I hope you go far in this career path :)
