This is my colt, Singe being sedated for the gelding (castration) process. It took awhile for him to go down. He had alot of fight, as you will see. Sorry about the smudge on the lens, I cleaned it later on.

  • does it hurt when he falls?

  • @tackster121 no it doesnt ..he is able to buckle his legs and fall down without pain.

  • That thing used on his lip looks really painful. :/

  • @NatashaSharpe1 its called a twitch and actually releases endorphins to the horse, helps them calm down

  • What do you call that tool being used on his nose? And is it safe/painful? Never saw one before, then again I'm not familiar with the gelding process.

  • @1verstreate1 its called a twitch. It is not painful. It releases endorphines to help the horse relax. Also creates a focal point so that the horse has something else to concentrate on.

  • i'll be doing this in a couple of months and not looking forward to it :( But it's gotta be done and I'm curious if their temperment changes after being gelded because as of now our colt thinks he's a lap dog lol I sure hope he stays that way.
