  • FWIW, you can play Odyssey here: virtualapple. org/ odysseydisk. html

(DON'T FORGET TO TURN ON CAPSLOCK, and press '/' for help.)

  • Wow...that was fast! :)

This was the first adventure-type computer game I ever played. Absolutely loved it--it really captured my imagination at age 13 or so. I still do have in emulated format. Check out the Apple Win emulator and images at ftp dot apple dot asimov dot net to find this game and its sequel, "Odyssey: The Compleat Apventure". Have fun!

  • I sunk *so* much time into this game I don't want to think of it. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.

  • Oh my god, I've been looking for this game for decades. I wasted hours on this game when I was ten; def a precursor of what was to come later, lol.

Anybody know where I can an emulation of this?

  • Oh man... I beat this game ONCE. I happened to be in the same location as the great oracle. Little did I know that you could simply fly there after it appeared... I just kept wondering around, waiting for it to show up on top of me...

  • Thanks for posting this, I spent close to 15 years trying to track this game down, and never did figure out how to overcome the magic barrier. What a great game concept, I'd kill for another game in a similar vein to this!

  • Actually awfully bad. But you may never forget where you came from. You need a lot imagination to see in this a landscape with towns, castle, fortes etc. pp.

But thanks a lot for this example from the early 80s.

  • Oh memories! I remember my Apple II days... I loved the apple BASIC and the four text lines in graphics mode. NICE Video!
