Unfortunately, the BOSS Dr. Rhythm DR-880 is neither recognized as a real doctor or an HMO provider on my health care plan, because Dr. Rhythm makes things as easy as you'd like with EZ Compose mode. While my doctor strongly encourages that I add some variety to my all-bacon diet, Dr. Rhythm allows me to eat all the bacon I can handle while creating easy beats by mixing and matching different preset patterns of hi-hat / cymbal, kick / snare, percussion and basslines.
You can also plug a guitar or bass into the DR-880, and while you can't record it directly onto the unit, it is great for jamming along.

@mettttal "decimator" pretty good. Great use of the DR-880. sounds like a real drummer no offence to real drummers.

@gearwire do you know how to do a bass slide from note to note on the 880? i noticed there were a couple built in songs that utilized them and when you go into step record there's a letter "P" right where the slide is. i can't figure out how to do it though.
