@Aristillus1 three chords? Are you stupid? Are you really that stupid? Don't get me wrong, I like Camel, hell I LOVE Camel. But no, The Beatles did have elaboration and certainly had more than 3 chords. Also saying they're 'basic' doesn't make sense. Compare say, With the Beatles to Magical Mystery tour. A world of difference. Please, please, don't say stupid stuff. don't.

of course I like... :)

@Aristillus1 Beatles were too basic?? Are you kidding me?? I guess you know only Help and Love me do, if you say that....

@mazzasl I agree that the Beatles have contributed to the early evolution of prog rock, with works like sgt.pepper, but they have always been a commercial phenomenon.. They wanted (or someone wanted them to) SELL, more than to MAKE ART.

The Beatles: Great Band, yes. CAMEL: FUCKING AWESOME; INCREDIBLE; FANTASTIC Band.... yes. There..

@Aristillus1 Clearly you've never listened to the likes of Sgt. Pepper if you think the Beatles are all about 3 minute, 3 chord pop songs. Camel are a brilliant band though!

No doubt they were extremely succesful, but you can't compare their sound with the magnificence Camel have, because The Beatles had a different style, and different songs, and because they were too basic. I mean, two- or three-minute songs, no elaboration, three chords... That's what I mean.
