Normally, you'd get meteor in the second world with Odin (if I recall), but this is the first world and I got it. Nope, it's not from the esper, but instead, it's because of leveling with Celes, lots of leveling. On my first playthrough of the game, I got the meteor spell from leveling, reaching level 98 with Celes (Terra gets ultima on level 99, of which I haven't found the esper for). I got the Pearl spell at level 71 or something (it's just as you pass 1 million EXP) and flare spell at level 81. Neither of these aren't of much use since you can't target multiple enemies with them. I also found a leveling ground that is twice as fast as that mentioned in the "how to solo" series, 180,000 EXP per hour at the very fastest. Vanish to make the enemies harmless then scorch everything. Do not physically attack admancht or you'll lose the EXP (and vanish effect) due to its "sneeze". Slurm can be physically attacked without concern, but you're better off scorching them. Use osmose on admancht to restore MP - it's only 50 but with vanish, these enemies are completely harmless. You can do this on level 1 - it's that safe! This video shows you my leveling grounds, and proof that I got meteor in the first world. This is probably something you've never seen before in this game....

  • Oh! I wonder how many exp you could get if you didn't have to deal with the loading times of the playstation?

  • The exp is the same - it's the rate at which you get it that differs which appears to be about 50% faster.

  • FF6 is the easiest of the FF games I've played. FF4 is easy-medium. FF5 (only available in the US under FF Anthology for main consoles (not handhelds)) is very hard. FF1 is medium-hard.

  • Yeah, for this game, it is more of a challenge NOT to level up. I am not sure what happened between FF4 and FF6. FF4, it is nearly impossible to level up after you are in the 40's. I got Tellah to 99, and it took so long I won't ever be doing that again.

  • I believe you, shut up.

  • The meteor spell in FF6 is my top favorite effect (a high favorite) in all FF games I've played that I've seen (and pretty much any RPG overall as well). Because I strongly like the effects, and that I knew a level 98 Celes would get it, I figured I'd level grind like crazy until I got it. 10 hours, however, is hardly anything compared to other FF games - FF12 comes to mind - 40 hours for a single character is my fastest.

  • @ulillillia what are you trying to prove by grinding for 10 hours in final fantasy 6 :'(

  • Actually, I didn't. I spent 10 hours battling adamanchyts and slurms in the cave near Thamasa to get it.

  • you used cheats to raise your level

  • Bracosaur(us) is the main threat when soloing. With atma weapon as the weapon with "offering" and "ribbon" as relics with high HP, it's easily possible to eradicate bracosaur(us). It's best with starting around level 60 or so (I don't exactly know). With at least 8000 HP or so, you'll do 9999 damage 4 times in one action.
