The Audi Metroproject Quattro featuring a 1.4 liter TFSI engine powering the front wheels and a 30 kW electric motor powering the back wheels, is a hybrid concept car for the sub-compact segment. The two motors can be used independently, for increased fuel efficiency or together for increased power and torque. When using the electric motor only the lithium-ion battery gives the vehicle a range of 100 km, and can be recharged from any power socket. The clean styling of the exterior consists of a high vehicle body, lowered bonnet which is embedded into the shoulder line, and a single frame aluminum finish grille. The low energy consuming LED headlights feature reflectors which focus the light to create a uniform beam. The interior also has a simple appearance, with the dashboard and center console designed to surround the driver. The removable Audi mobile device, housed in the center console, functions as a mobile phone, navigation unit, audio and video player and vehicle access system. The device allows the driver to program the sound system or activate the vehicles heating system while still inside their home or office. The device can also receive real-time images from the camera placed inside the vehicle, and track the movement of the vehicle if it is stolen.
