First, that sample was dope! I think that when you say measures, people are like wtf because everything is usually referred to in bars in hiphop. The way you chopped it was cool. I think that chopping it by measures restricts your bpm. I have no clue what the stick you were talking about thats burning in slow motion.Also its not stealing, its sampling! I think that sometimes you cant get 8 measures of a song because there's vocals on the break. Also some people chop only notes and stabs.

@jjbing3 thanks man, doesnt really have to be 8 measures i was just saying that its easier if each pad has an equal number of beats after you chop your sample. like pads 1-8 all having 1beat or all having 2 beats...etc that way you can go back and rechop for instance a stab from the even chops that you might not want and its much easier to work with
