i think the CHI you brought were NOT authentic. That's why they broke.. My aunt is a hairdresser and had her CHI for over four years and never had a problem with it. Buy it somewhere else.

Don't buy professional hair products (such as Bed head, redken, Paul Mitchell) at drugstores or regular stores. It is only guaranteed authentic when purchased from professional salons. Professional hair products at regualar stores are usually watered down or expired. And honestly I've been to target and they sell chis for like $120. If you went to a salon they would be like $20 cheaper anyways.

Thnx for the info, I personally prefer the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, works amazing :P
This is definitely not an authentic chi, because I have BOTH of those products and I've had the curling iron for 3 years and nothing of the sort has happened.
Also, they offer a TWO year warranty, not a one year.

@mohabat22 You may be correct, could have been a knock-off. I recently discovered that you can get them from places that should be selling authentic CHI's and still there may be a knock off lurking in the pile. Its okay now because I prefer GHD or Babyliss Titanium. Much better results on my hair.

I was gonna buy a chi at target online but is it really a knockoff?

@AshleyAlexandra94 Since I did this video, some ppl keep saying that Target's CHI's are not always authentic. So I myself am sort of confused. Its never a safe bet nowadays even if you get it at a salon! So if u want to get one, then try getting it from Jcpenney salon or anyone near you that sells it. If u can bite the bullet, skip CHI go for GHD. I really have to say its a good iron but I am sure there are cheaper irons that may be just as good. If I find out anything else, I will post a video.

Ok, Im not being rude, but I think you bought one of the "knock offs" that were going around about a year ago.. I have been retailing chis for over 10 years... about 2 years ago there was a huge problem with product diversion, and I think you got burned... a real chi doesnt do that, In all the time i've dealt with them I have never encountered this problem.. you can call 1-800-237-9175 ext 5171
that is chi repair

@mdixon1977 No offense taken. It is possible that I got a knock off EVEN if i did purchase it from authorized retailers. I will say that every single CHI product I have owned did the same thing. I love the flat irons and the curling irons but for the money I spent, got them from different retailers, I would not buy one again. This is just an FYI to people to be careful even if they buy it from an authorized retailer. U never know what your getting, there is not a clear way to tell if its fake.
