I have a Game Boy Emulator in the works for the TI-83+ family... minus the TI-83+. That is, TI-83+ Silver Edition, TI-84+, and TI-84+ Silver Edition. Hardware limitations keep me from including the original TI-83+, so sorry for any inconvenience. =P

This is a demonstration of Link's Awakening in the emulator (the only other game confirmed to work is Tetris). I have managed to mostly support two out of the four Game Boy's sound channels if you plug in headphones to the link port, so that's what you are hearing while the video is playing.

Also, for some reason the sound and the video were recorded at slightly different speeds, so they aren't synchronized for most of the video. It is most synchronized when Link gets his sword.

This still has a lot of work to be done (for example, supporting other games), so a release is not expected in the very near future.

Enjoy!

  • Is there a way to disable sound?

  • @Subspaceking It's disabled by default

  • It doesn't work on TI-84/SE.... :(

  • @LinkBean For the love of cheese cubes, couldn't you see the big warning at the beginning of the readme? Your calculator is probably too new. I'm still working on a new version that will be compatible, so it might work in the future.

  • I have the same TI-boy emulator on my ti-84 plus, just one quick question, how did you get the graphics to be so clear i keep running into the problem of the graphics being distorted. they also flash way too much to even be read

  • You'll have to zoom in using the numpad. If you want the "camera" to follow a certain sprite, use the (-) key. Check the readme for more details

  • There are no sound chips on the TI calcs, but there are rudimentary ways of pushing waveforms through the IO port. The IO port itself is a 2.5mm audio jack. Get a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter, plug in your headphones, receive sound.

  • How do I get this? all the roms I find are too big

  • eehhh why is there a Mario on a Link game?

  • @LinkBean it doesn't work on any ti 84 Se's made after 2007. Ti made it impossible for the emulator to access the ram on the calculator, rendering it useless

  • @Damauveropolis They don't. He had to use pure assembly and the link port. :)

  • O__o I had no idea a TI-84+ have sound chips.

  • @baosen92 you can play bomber man on it. multiplayer.

  • @LinkBean omnimaga.org

the betas work with all new calcs like mine :)
