cool tank. I just caught and idol from the ocean and put him in my tank a few weeks ago. At first my Koran Angel gave him some hell until they established who was boss, now he is doing well and looks fantastic and eats pellet food. What other kinds of food do you feed your idol I know they need a few things to survive for a long time.

@kimscvp101 I don't understand. If you have one of each then u should know what kind of water u have them in..:) The moorish idol and clownfish are all saltwater. This video is a saltwater tank.

Yes the Moorish Idol is alive and doing extremely well! He has grown quite big and is a beautiful fish to watch. The Clown Tang occasionally chases him but he is so quick to avoid him with his amazing maneuvers. 99% of the time I feed all the fish only New Life Spectrum soaked in a commercial garlic or vitamin solution. My powder Blue just didn't seem as healthy or vigorous as the rest as he/she would only eat frozen food until I only feed NLS for 5 days and now it's doing amazing! Big and fat!

@pinesummit2 seeing that the latest comment is 8 months ago, is your moorish idol still alive?

@littlebigtangelo
Yes, The Moorish Idol continues to do extremely well. He continues to grow and his beauty is stunning. I'm tempted to get another one but will wait until I find one that is healthy and strong enough to be placed in my reef aquarium.
Thanks, Jim

how did you get yours to eat because i am looking to get one maybe

@tdawg32197 Hi, My advice is to make sure he is eating at the store before you purchase it. Always put the fish in a well kept hospital tank. Give it time to eat and get accustomed to the pellet food soaked in garlic. Then place it in your reef aquarium.
Thanks

Hi,
Make sure it is healthy and eating at the store before you even consider it! I try to find fish that have been there for awhile, are well adjusted and will be a good addition to my reef tank. Thanks
