The Cherokee also kept slaves prior to European arrival-Granted it was more like the temporary indentured servitude of Antiquity-usually as punishment or as a preamble to adoption. Comanches however, were known to abuse their slaves & MesoAmericans south of the border used them as human sacrifices. No color is exempt from doing wrong.
