I'm totally awkward about gifts also! Our wedding "gift opening" that family insisted we have was excruciating! lol! Fortunately, the baby shower wasn't as bad because we just tried to focus on the fact that they weren't gifts for us, they were gifts for the baby! That helped! :)

I had my shower at 33 weeks and it was perfect timing. Let people "shower you" and the baby. There's so few times in life when you get to be celebrated, enjoy it :-)

Definitely worth going to a breast feeding class. There is a real lack of information on it and no wonder so many people give up so early. The more information you can get, the better. I found Kellymom.com a good site for advice etc. As for gifts, i'm similar and feel awkward about it too. I find it really embarrassing receiving them, but I love sending them to other people! You're looking fantastic and have a real pregnancy glow, it's lovely. I'm still in 1st tri so look terrible! ha ha x

Ahh, finally, someone who shares my pain about gifts! I thought my dad and I were just about the only ones in the world who felt so odd about getting gifts. :)

I had a family baby shower after I had my baby...it was so nice! Everyone got to meet my son and I felt so much better than The shower I had pre baby. Just a thought !
