@DanDFriend they are ok but a little under powered you gotta sometimes floor it to pass someone i have the 3.5L V6 they can take abuse i have takin it from Georgia to New York several times and have had it in pretty bad conditions and it hasnt failed me yet i have over 80,000 Miles and its running strong. It hold the dogs and stuff really well but remember it has an AWD system so no lock or low for off roading.

Im looking for opinions of people that have one of these. Im looking to get a used 01-05 Santa Fe like this one with probably around 70 or 80 thousand kilometres on it. I will be living on an acreage soon so I need a vehicle that can; Be reliable and not break-down and the worst possible moments, be refined and calm on dirt/gravel roads, and has enough power to pass someone on the freeway. I need someones opinion, please help!

Of course it is the old SF. When saying OLD I mean the first model, years 2001-2006. All the SFs in that time period (except the 3.5 V6) are full-time AWD with 3 differential,the center one has a visco-coupling in parallel ,which acts like an LSD. The system is designed by Steyr-Puch. The new one (2006-now) has a multi-plate clutch instead of a center diff. Work quite well,though...
