Contact us at carlyfiredme@gmail.com If you were laid off by Carly and let your voice be heard. Carly Fiorina is responsible for the loss of 30,000 jobs during her tenure at Hewlett-Packard. How can she be expected to create jobs in California?
@fangorn23 - Feel free to give actual figures on the pay for HP employees abroad. IF YOU HAVE THEM, of course. More to he point, why do jobs always leave to places where the corporate tax rates are lower and the regulatory climate is more sane an predictable?
Ironically, it's that tax policy that people like Barbara Boxer created that drove companies like HP to have to lay people off and use overseas plants. Boxer represents more of the same, Carly would change things.
@brandon2720 Are you even an American citizen? The country in your file is listed Canada. If you are not an American citizen, mind your own fucking business.
The unemployment rate in Canada is not getting lower, worry about your own country!
well lets see, RFID is a Saudi invention, use mandatory in Great Britain. eBay is connected "hard wired if you will. One world would include everyone? Ask the imagration department that does the visa transfers of students, "O" sorry that's or military. We can't ask them anything they just tell everyone,,,huh? Painted in a cornor with all the wrong BrUSH strokes? or just headed in the wrong direction since 1969?
If you want to call HP and speak to people working in an American call centre? Are you prepared to pay more for your computer in order to do so? No? Then shut up. CEO's don't send jobs overseas because they have something against American workers; they do it because they serve American consumers and shareholders. And if they want to keep those consumers buying their products and keep their shareholders from firing them, they do what is necessary to keep costs low. That's today's economy.
A double-edged sword... if the job can go anywhere, and you're mobile... go chase it. In the gov't agency I used to work for, they'd been consolidating, downsizing and (less) out-sourcing for the 15 years before I retired. When work was consolidated or jobs were moved, they offered the best workers the opportunity to relocate.
"any job can go anywhere" then how come they all COINCIDENTALLY leave the US and go to places like China and India where the daily wage there is worth pennies on the dollar?

America has to adopt the concept of its highly honored trading partner and introduce slave labor again. Jobs will come back then...maybe...
