Now for the first LinkNavi scenario. This being Gregar version, we have HeatMan. If memory serves, HeatMan's is the second most combat-intensive scenario of the five, EraseMan's topping it if only with potential battles. The remaining three might be a bit less eventful than this (ElecMan and ChargeMan might not even GET full videos -_-*).

Speaking of combat, HeatMan's got it rough in this challenge. The starter folder has no Fire chips, which means he's going to be relying on his charged shot and his fixed chip to even damage the Kettle viruses at all. I go out of my way to try to get Full Synchro so I can pull that critical 100 damage in a single shot with said fixed chip. Without it, I have to wait for BusterUp and Attack+10 to finish the battle in a timely manner.

"I think I'm really beginning to get the hang of fire chips!" ... lol

The battle against HeatMan was mostly a big game of me trying to remember his counter timing. Guess I was a bit lucky, but I just KNOW those Recover10s are going to be clogging my draws in the future.

  • My god, Lan's pulling a Samus Aran!

    I mean, it's not like he MAY HAVE/HAVE NOT had a certain HEATGUTS style in MMBN2, of coooourse not...or y'know, may have used basic fire chips all throughout his young, yet dramatic life.

  • Isn't it weird that Heat Man.exe, with his crazy evil look and eyebrows of fire, is the only one of Mr. Match's Navis not to be used for evil?

  • Nice to see your still alive. While those Rec10's will clog your damage chips later, they can still save you in a pinch if things go down hill and you bring undershirt. Had to learn that the hard way in my default folder run of SF3.

    Also, I just realized that Match's battle 4 could be unwinable if you don't bring an area steal or use that heat press correctly

  • methinks you'll be relying on beast-mode and link navis for a lot of the later game damage.
