In 1976 Synova and I went to our first concert, it was John Denver. The song "Sunshine on my Shoulders" became our song. I used to call Synova "Sunshine". About 20 years later I had the opportunity to meet John Denver at the Pebble Beach Golf Coarse in Monterey, California. We talked for a long time and I told him about Synova and that concert in 1976. About a month later he was killed in that terrible plane accident just off the coast of Monterey. I dedicate this song to Synova my angel and to John who made this song just for me and Synova well thats what he said!

  • Michael this video is absolutely wonderful, I love your work. You really do need to keep doing what you do. You are so good until I wouldn't be suprised if a recording company offered you a contract any day now. Keep up the good work. Rose F

  • Thank you Rose, I will keep singing, and i believe something good will come along for me to be able to share my voice with perhaps thousands of people. This song was our song. Synova and me. Synova was my childhood aweetheart and my wife. she passed away from cancer, but her song is still in my heart and soul!

  • A little sharp on the first entrace notes of the phrases when compared with the guitar tonation. I would love to hear you sing something where you could break out of the "Baptist Hymnal". You have such a good voice. Do you have any songs taped without any accompaniment background? Let poor John rest in peace.

  • I agree a little sharp, the sound track was lowered to another key, not good! I will send you a song I recorded a' capella.

  • Way to go Micahel. Great choice of song.

I know Synova is looking down on you.

How proud she must be. This is one of my favorite songs. Thank you for singing it.

  • Thanks Neal one of my favorites too, it was amazing getting to meet John Denver and have such a great down to earth conversation with him, I appreciate having had that opportunity to talk with him for a good long while, unusual to do that but we were on the driving range hitting golf balls for about an hour, that made the conversation easy.

  • Joan, How about a good old gospel song like "His Eye is on the Sparrow" or "Follow Me" out of the old Inspiration Hymnal. or any suggestions you might have!
