@lordofengmar Most Americans are brought onto British panel shows so that people can laugh and point and them when they don't understand references to Norwich or whatever. That's about it.

There is nothing wrong with having americans on the show, it is just that Christian Slater was a bad choice. Also, the ignorance about accents is stunning; we all have them, without exception. An accent is not something deviant or foreign or something to be compared to "proper" English; it is simply how we pronounce words, usually shaped by the region we are from.

Everyone, no matter where you are from, has an accent. Americans aren't predisposed to being bad guests. Christian Slater is just a bad choice.

I like how people like to pretend there are never bad British guests on these shows as well (Jade Goody anyone?). Sure Slater wasn't great here, but it's mainly because he's not a comedian, not because he's American. Typical pathetic Youtube comments.

The thing about accents, yes everyones is different and so everyone elses seems strange, but it is America that has the accent because... Um it's English, came from England....... English people speak it right.

@Monty835 couple things wrong with that statement, you can turn it around and say that about anyone with a different accent, second its not the accent that gets Americans its actually your word choice, there are a lot of words that British people use that Americans have never heard, especially insults, third are you always capable of understanding Johnny Vegas? and lastly, they're*.
