This vlog is a response to "Technology and Deaf Culture" news program that was shown on PBS in 2001. In that program, Dylan Craig was the focus point on how CI will help him. It led me to wonder how Dylan is doing these days?
Not only that but the video also helped me realize that we can re-frame ourselves by pointing out the advantages of using ASL. The Bahan family is shown in this program showing the benefit of ASL which should be the focal point of the whole program.

I did try googling Dylan Craig but haven't yet found anything that is definitely the same person you were referring to except for the 2001 video and your vlog. If anybody knows anything about Dylan nowadays, hope u can share it.

Great Vlog.. Howver, I have a personal objection! Could you stop using that concept or phrase? "Whole person"? It actually is a stupid compromise between the Oralists, and the Deaf to allow ASL and CI to go together. In my opinion, it's a poor excuse to put CI's on a baby, or a child, or as late as to be put on a teenager.. No human not even yet an adult should never ever have CI's on their own person (body)! Whole person concept is a sick thing to mention and/or do to a human being! Agree?

@Bunjer When I said "whole person", I am not referring to compromising with the oralists. Whole person to me means a Deaf person who will be able to use ASL and English fluently, be able to participate in organizations, sports, or any kind of social activities, be able to resolve some issues without asking for help, living independently (without SSI), and man more. That is what I was referring to.

@mrjoeybaer U are unaware, It's a covert way to sic CI's on, use AVT, Oralism, Sign English, SEE, music and etc. Wool is pulled over the eyes of the Deaf Communities! Actually a fix, or a compromise behind the scenes! It's a farce, a travesty, especially a trick! Be wary, on how they represent the victim by exaggarating the claim that it's "Whole Person" concept! It' a "charade", a big cover up! It's a parody by claiming to have support of ASL and BI/BI etc. Clerc's Children is one example..
