actually due to the "solidarity tax" introduced by the Kohl administration the east german infrastructure after the reunification became superior compared to the one in the west. just go and visit the east... yes it was and it still is expensive. but since the time window for the unification was very small and the administration had to react quickly, the german government made some tremendous mistakes during the reunification process...but hey, money will never outrank the value of freedom!

Everyone has learned from the unification of Germany what economic burden a unification will be. Until now the infrastructure of "East" Germany are not in par with the rest of the country. China has to do something, when NKorea falls millions of people will flee to either China or SKorea. Lekator, you are right basically NKorea is like a "homeless person." The bomb N.Korea is creating would most probably be used so that the party's demands would be better respected. They are basically not being able to fulfill their national doctrine the Juche and rely on the help of others. The are defacto living off of aid like a homeless person.
