There are 100's of abusive facilities in the US like Cross Creek, that torture and brainwash youth. Many end up with a lifetime of panic attacks, night terrors, flashbacks, social anxiety, suicidal thoughts, PTSD and depression.

They call themselves wilderness camps, boot camps, therapeutic boarding schools, emotional growth schools and behavior modification centers. You've probably heard of them. What you might not know is many are hotbeds of physical abuse and psychological torture.

@barbieorochimaru hmm... all i can say is that it must be the women staff. the worst i saw on the guy side was a kid getting clothes lined but for a good reason. good reason being was he was chasing down a kid to fight him. as for the belt thing, i do not know why they do that. i think the program is a great idea, but they need to have inspectors from child safety to inspect randomly to make sure nothing illegal is happening. note: some ppl if they were there they would be with bubba in jail.

@thedougman2008 As another former 'student' of lovely Cross Creek, I can say for a fact that everything Xandir said is true. I have a scar across my left shoulder from having it thrown against a corner of a wall while they were 'restraining' me, and the staff dislocated my right shoulder as well. Cross Creek is HELL. I also had the belt thing done to me, and I had the imprints for a week after I arrived, and spots where it had rubbed my skin raw.

@thedougman2008 You call her an "idiot"? She sounds very intelligent to me. You say the rest is legit, you mean like a three second time limit for hugs? Talking about homosexuality is a category five (the worst) punishment? Listening to motivational tapes, propaganda videos? Motivational seminars about how girls will be raped again if they don't change their behavior? Pictures of infected private parts? Telling kids they are sex addicts for thinking about sex 2x/day? That doesn't sound ok to me.

@RedditTroubledTeens i cannot vouche for the other ones because those i know did kinda suck and kids still got away with alot. there was NO brainwashing and NO torture at that school. she is just an idiot that didnt see the true meaning of what she was doing there. it is tragic that her mom sent her there for the wrong reasons but she is lying. but the restraint should not of hurt any one, that staff would be fired. and the belt thing is also not standard. but the rest is legit just annoying.
