Scientists under fire in climate change 'cover-up' scandal

A leading British climate scientist has come under pressure to resign over a series of leaked e-mails, which global warming sceptics say point to a mass conspiracy. The scandal erupted after a research server was hacked into, and private e-mails and documents were released, suggesting that scientists may have colluded to prevent the release of climate data.

@WaxItYourself You have to wonder about the state of climatology when Hans Von Storch does his 2008 secret ballot poll of climate scientists and less than 20% of the scientists respond. The field is simply too politicized (that was one of the questions in the poll). I'm all for decarbonizing the economy, but to do it as a crash program on the basis of science that has become entangled within the political arena is disconcerting. Climatology needs a mechanism for depoliticization.

@Stillwater900 I've read the original piece. Maybe you should do the same. It was a 33 page report with one small paragraph being about climate science. And it stated, basically, that if we did not get a handle on our emissions that extraterrestrials would see us as not technologically advanced enough. The CO2 in the atmosphere is part of the biological carbon cycle. the fossil fuels we dig up are part of the geologic carbon cycle. Do you understand? Probably not.

@Stillwater900 Who cares about a debate among non scientists? The debate does not matter the debaters are what matter in debates regardless if one is lying or not. How do you get over your complete ignorance of the subject and instead rely on people who lie and deceive, such as Monckton? If you want to learn climate science read scientific journals. That being CO2's uneven distribution of electric charges, making it a greenhouse gas and allowing it to absorb and re-radiate electromagnetic longwave energy. Observations must be false as well then. Monckton has tried having debates with real scientists and got burried under the rug by them. this is because they are trained in what they are talking about. Monkcton was trained as a journalist. He isn't and never was a scientist. You're having the wool pulled over your eyes. Stop listening to his lies. And global warming is what causes climate change. They are used interchangeably.
