Why are these live videos getting such high ratings? The sound quality is absolute ass. I can't find anything of this band on youtube that would even aproach listenable.

The quality is probably the best live recording of ptw I've heard and the picture came out pretty awesome too. Don't go looking for fan recordings if you expect soundboard quality.
