Here's a sprint of a chipped BMW 135i coupe vs a stock BMW M3 e36 3.2.
M3 has 321HP/350Nm and the 135i has about 360HP/450Nm. They weigh both about 1450kg.
M3 starts in 3th gear, 135i in 4th gear. Starting speed +/-110km/h.
M3 had to let of the gas at the end.

  • @TypeDoubleR

It has double VANOS already ;)

  • Hey Erik! I can't believe you were beaten, man.

The 35i cannot be as fun, sound as nice and rev as high, though. A high-revving N/A engine is what BMW Motorsport is all about.

Your car is the internet benchmark for all 3.2 cars out there. I used to own an E36 3.0, now an E46. BMW I-6 for life! :)

  • @Seyran325

Thx for you're comment! And yes there's always a faster car out there ;)

And you're right about the fun of the N/A engine, the sounds is also much nicer.

E46 sounds also great. Have fun!

  • Hi Erik, your M3 Seems to be in excellent condition,

I am just buying my First M3 (3.2 6spd) This weekend, and am really excited as I have wanted one for 10 years.

I am keeping my E30 2.7ltr stroker I only had the cash for one with slightly high ks. I am wondering if you dont mind how many ks are on your clock.

I will be Dyno'ing mine in August, so hopefully I will return some decent figures as I am worried about the power loss over the 180,000kms its done -still happy to be owning one!

  • @cheozuka

Did you dyno you're car already?

  • still pretty amazing that the naturally aspirated euro M3 6cyl from the 1990's can hang with twin turbo 6cyl bmw of the 2009. Gotta give it props, love Evo M3's!

  • @Hahmed17 Better option is to keep the 3.0 engine and add a 6-gear box from the 3.2.

You will notice a lot more difference in acceleration and torque.

I used to have a 328i with a 325i manifold complete m3 exhaust and a 6-gear box from the m3 3.2 and the 3.15 differential of a 3.0 M3. The 3.23 differential from an M3 3.2 is too heavy and will add too much weight to your car.

The 328 is the only non M car wich fits an M3 gearbox., with ecu remap i did 230 km/h in 5th gear.

    never tried top speed

  • leuk filmpje ik denk dat die m3 wel sneller gaat op topsnelheid ahoewel die gechipte 135iook snel gaat dus nja..BMW FOR LIVE driftautos

  • You hung in there man, but those 125's are pretty quick stock AC Schnitzer tuned, now thats insane, I have a 3.0 m3 now, but Im gonna do a swap one day for the 3.2 Euro spec motor, the highlight of my life to say the least.

  • damn good race, i expected the 135i to win by more because ive seen videos of the e46 m3 loosing worse...

  • @psychotronik123

    Ow yeah Belgium car :)

  • Hmmm can i beat that 3.2 off yours...

    I have a 3.0 324Pk and 367Nm . A new battle? Lol :D

  • BS. ur a sad driver if u can't win with that package..

  • I have to admit

    german respect

    that was a great pull!

Id say you almost got him but its not about winning

its all about having good times and enjoying the cars
