Nice posting. I had never heard this one and only just read about its existence. I wonder how it fit into the film? Anyway, I LOVE that movie! Dressed as Popeye for Halloween once, in the Robin Williams style, even doing my hair just the same (very shortly cut and bleached), ha.

I hated this song on the record... cause when you're 8... you aren't into mush... and it was not anywhere in the movie... so it didn't make a lick of sense. :)

This song actually has a Disney-esque feel to it, out of all of the songs featured in the movie.

I loved the movie,as well of the sound track album....But i really love this song the most. Thank you for posting it.

wow!is he singing to his bottle?i remember when i got the lp wen i was kid(still have it)and wondering where the hell this song came from, its has to be the drunk that says something when he comes thru the door when bluto is destroying the house."i show you mine?you show me yours?"wow no wonder they cut it.id like to see the supposly 3 hour cut of this movie if its ever released just to see this part with the drunk.

this song was sung by Robert Fortier. I cannot find anything sung by this man on you tube. who can help me?

I love this song. I have it on a tape somewhere. Yes, a tape.

I think it was Bluto. Popeye stole his girl. So, I believe it was Bluto.

Way back when, I loved the film (still do) and got the soundtrack on vinyl. Imagine my shock and surprise when this clunker showed up on the album, instead of the genius "Everything is food"! SO disappointed. Wish they'd release an accurate version of the Soundtrack, with "Food" and "Swee'pea's Lullaby".
I now have a popeye movie website. Please visit it and I hope you enjoy it.

Which character was supposed to sing this? Was it Popeye or Bluto?

It was sung as you can here in the song by the town drunk but was cut from the movie because of running time and I think the movie sounds better without it in to be honest.

I agree! What's a drunkman's song got to do with Popeye any way?
