The government today maintained that no Kenyan youths were being recruited to serve as soldiers in the Somali military. Foreign affairs minister Moses Wetangula said Kenya was only facilitating training for personnel from Somalia as per the African union and IGAD agreements, and that Kenya would maintain her policy of non interference of the affairs of any foreign territory. And in a statement to newsrooms, government spokesman Dr Alfred Mutua further stated that it was the government of national unity of Somalia that had requested for help in the training of its police and immigration officers, and maintained that no Kenyan had been recruited in the exercise.
