QE2 spotted intact in Dubai by the Costa Classica

This is a breaking report! it was Jan 11 2009 was when the Costa crusies vessel the Costa Classica made it's port of call in Dubai & fortunately it's stern webcam spotted the beautiful QE2 intact & as we can see theres little smoke coming from her so it's rumoured that she's still running.

This may be the the final time we the beloved QE2 in her full form before she is gutted & sent to the dry docks.

As we all miss QE2 , it's so sad to see her in Dubai just sitting there lifeless before the alien landscape.

It's no shocker why she ran aground before her final voyage , she never wanted to leave her home of Britain & Southampton but sadly awaits an uncertain fate as a hotel & with her soul taken from her.

Unlike all the new vessels QE2 had a life of it's own , every time you looked at her you felt that special feeling inside you. This is the fastest ship in the world , she has a stylish & sleek look & she has a heart & soul.

She carried more than 2 million voyagers over the years and sailed over 5 million miles across the Earths oceans.

She should have been kept in British lands & before the deal came to be she should have had a fair trial & public opinion of what should be done with her before being sold.

It's a crying shame & to me it's a disgrace to see the flagship of British merchant fleet be treated in such a way like shes nothing special.

At least some of us like myself got to say goodbye to the most famous ship in the world & I have memories of her final times in America.

Her final departure was sad & bittersweet at most.

She's not going to be scrapped but she will be gutted out & mutilated inside.

Bastards , hell yes to that.

Cutting off the funnel & replacing it with a penthouse suite & taking out the engines & replacing it with a entertainment hall.

They should just leave it the way it is & make money off it.

If it ain't broke don't fix it , that what I'd do.

It's a shame & a disgrace that she's not in British hands & Cunard singed the deal for her to be exploited.

I'll never forgive them.

well it does not matter now cunard are now in talks to bring her back to southampton as she is not structually sound for the job they wanted for her and in the next few months she will be back in her home port where she is known and loved

Everything in Dubai is run by Brit expats, and I am sure Dubai bought QE2 to attract even more British visitors, so I am sure they will not mess her up too much. Cunard has been part of Mickey Arison's Carnival Corp. for several years, so it's been some time since she was actually British owned anyway.

The plans are for the funnel to be removed and used as an entrance to the rebuilt ship. A new funnel made of steel and colored glass will be installed on the ship and it will have a huge suite inside. Much of her interiors will be gutted and rebuilt. The Queen Room and a few other spaces most likely will remain intact.

Replacing the funnel with a penthouse suite?! Are you kidding? It's a pity that all that money in Dubai can't buy good taste or a sense of history. It seems that obscene wealth and extreme tackiness nearly always go hand in hand.
