Is this why Dads gain (sympathy) pounds ?

It was a doc I read in college. I can't remember it's author or title. I do know that Richard J. Gelles has doen some research on the subject as have Johanna Nordlund & Hans Temrin (Sweden) done a study regarding step parent killing children. Whole family homicide was also discussed by Wilson, M., Daly, M. & Daniele, A. They were pretty even in murdering both male and female children. Non-geetilaly related men were les likely to be suiidal as well... so it was aggression NOT depression!!!

What great info.

Where do I find the study on the statements/statistics you make in your comment. I'd be very interested to read it.

I didn't mean for it to come across how you understood it. I wasn't trying to say that they're not farther figures when they're not around there children. I mean that they are MORE likely to be that way with THEIR child.
But anyway thanks for clearing that up in case anyone else gets confused.

Provaative! It explains why live-in, non-genetically related males are the #1 killers of children! It'd be interesting to see the testosterone response of males to their partner's non-genetically related infants. Are (human) males who've never reproduced more aggressive toward all infants? Failure to reduce testosterone explains (& help identify) abusive fathers & pedphilic related males? Do male relatives (cousin/uncle/grandfathers) react to the DNA signature of kids in their own genetic line?

lol dude you got it all wrong, even if they dont smell the baby's scent that doesn't mean they don't like the enfant. they are stating that they are more like moms and less like guards...
That is awesome, i love biology
